OVERVIEW:

Concrete Floor Art transforms an ordinary concrete slab into a luxurious floor, resembling marble, tile, or glazed stone. Acid staining creates the appearance of expensive flooring at a fraction of the cost.

Your floor acquires its own patina, character, and personality. These are developed in part by the concrete mix, weather conditions, finishing techniques, porosity, cracks, and blemishes. The addition of a scored patterns, stain color and finish, results in a one of a kind floor.

Scored and stained concrete is available for exterior or interior slabs, commercial or residential jobs. Often used for commercial purposes, concrete staining lends a clean, attractive look to retail store floors, restaurants, mall walkways and business entrances. As seen on HGTV and other decorating channels, concrete stain has recently been adopted by the residential building industry. It is popular anywhere throughout the home. At a fraction of the cost of tile or stone, the possibilities are endless. You can enjoy the beauty of stained concrete from your driveway, patio, or pool house to your master suite, kitchen or basement.

Existing concrete surfaces can be stained and scored also. Not only can new construction benefit, but existing slabs can also be upgraded with this great treatment.

BENEFITS OF STAINING AND SCORING
Scored and stained concrete blends well with other interior and exterior finishes. Whether working with a neo-classic, southwestern, eclectic, contemporary, or strictly traditional décor. Acid stain and water based stains enhance any setting.

Staining provides a very clean living environment. Unlike carpeting, it does not harbor dirt, odor, mold, or any other asthma related materials. It is ideal for those who suffer from allergies related to carpet born mites and dander.

Stained concrete will not chip or peel, and will last the lifetime of the surface to which applied.

Scored and stained concrete is very low maintenance. Simply damp mop as needed. For spills, immediately use a damp mop with any household cleaner and dry. Periodic rewaxing or resealing is recommended depending on traffic. Periodic buffing will restore luster.

ACID STAIN

Unlike paint, the various colors of acid stain react with the minerals in the concrete, giving it the look and feel of natural stone. Each concrete slab accepts the stain in varying degrees of intensity. This creates stunning multi-hued color variations and an uneven surface color that looks perfectly aged. The blemishes and character in your ordinary concrete add to the charm creating a unique one of a kind extraordinary floor.

Surfaces can be stained with one or multiple colors. Multiple colors can be used to create a checkerboard, color a design, create a faux finish, highlight a border, or help visually divide a space.

WATER BASED STAIN

Water based stains are available in hundreds of colors. They are suitable when the surface is less than perfect, such as were there are patches or mismatched concrete. Water based stains can be ideal for older installations. They are great any time a less transparent look is desired.

Just like with acid stains, surfaces can be stained with one or multiple colors. Multiple colors can be used to create a checkerboard, color a design, create a faux finish, highlight a border, or help visually divide a space.

CUSTOM DESIGN BY SCORING

Concrete scoring gives the illusion of segmentation. It creates inlaid tile like areas. At Concrete Floor Art we pride ourselves on our cutting. We are masters at cutting straight lines and curves. You can be assured of an accurate cut because we use the right tools to get the job done professionally.

We use a saw to cut lines about 1/8" of an inch wide. Straight lines and curves can be made into limitless patterns and shapes. We would love to show you some creative ideas or turn your dreams into art.

OVERLAYS

Overlays allow you to achieve stained and scored concrete surfaces when a good slab is not available. An overlay can spare the cost of tearing out an old damaged slab around a pool or anywhere else. A thin layer of special concrete products can be applied to wooden sub floors, metal, or damaged concrete. These overlays can then be stained and scored. Overlays are a great alternative to tile, linoleum, stone, or carpeting.
